Ginger Mancino, Kid Comedian by Wendi Aaron (ARC)

MIDDLE SCHOOL IS NO LAUGHING MATTER!

At 12 years old, professional comedian Ginger Mancino has drawn laughs on stages across the country and even performed on the most popular late night comedy show. But when she’s forced to retire from comedy and live a regular life for the first time, she discovers her toughest audience yet: middle school.

After a big misstep, Ginger goes from being a school nobody to a social outcast overnight. But a new BFF and a series of mystery texts (possibly from her comedy idols!) give her the confidence to use her humor in new ways and stand up for herself. Things are finally looking up when Ginger is faced with the most difficult decision of her life, and the wrong choice just might cost her the first real friend she’s ever had.

Ginger Mancino, Kid Comedian is a middle grade book about the Kid Comedian, Ginger Mancino, who is forced to retire from her career because—according to her manager—she's not funny anymore. But, she feels like she can't give it up, comedy is her life. So, she decides to make her own "stage". Unfortunately, it's not that easy. When she feels so desperate, come the mysterious messages from the unknown.

The thing that takes my interest in this book is the mystery aspect of it and it is fun. But, as an adult who read this, I can tell what's exactly going on. It's like, if you pay attention to the scenes, you can see the hints are there. As for children, maybe not many of them will realize it or if they do, they will get confused throughout the story because I think the author doing a great job to redirect the readers suspect.

Nowlet's talk about the characters, mainly the main character, Ginger Mancino. I like her personality but I don't like her language, especially the way she talks to adults. I understand that she just tries to be funny, like making a joke, and it's okay if she does it with her friends, but if she directs it to adults, I think it's kind of impolite.

So overall, I enjoy this book. It's funny and entertaining. I like it.

This book will be published on June 22, 2022. So.... HAPPY READING!
