LET'S GO TO THE BEACH

Hello, friends. Welcome to my space.

It's summer, guys! Let's go to the beach.

A Line in the Sand by Teri Wilson (ARC)

USA Today bestselling author Teri Wilson brings you the perfect beach read rom com with a bright, sparkling love story featuring:

A heroine who's vowed never to date again-for real, this time!
Her rambunctious Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy
The handsome and brilliant marine biologist she can't ignore
And the nonstop antics of her friends determined to be matchmakers

Sparks fly when Molly Prince's puppy Ursula constantly disrupts the beachfront area where new-in-town marine biologist Max Miller is studying sea turtle mating habits. Max and Molly are instantly attracted to each other, but Molly dismisses Max out-of-hand. She's not dating anymore. Maybe not ever, since her last relationship ended in a spectacular disaster. As for Max, he refuses to take Molly seriously when her job is to play pretend as the aquarium's mermaid. But when Ursula won't stop digging in Max's beachfront yard and reveals her unique ability to sniff out sea turtle nests, she might bring these two opposites close enough to help save the turtles, and maybe even save the aquarium...

A Line in the Sand is a romantic-comedy novel inspired by the Little Mermaid. We have Molly who works at aquarium as a display/guide Mermaid. One day, Molly finds a man drowning, so she helps him while she still wears her working attire, the Mermaid costume. The man—Max—thinks he must be dead. There's no way a Mermaid exists in this world, let alone help him. But, there is a Mermaid (well...a girl in costume) who helps him. Apparently, this Max is the Prince of the Aquarium a.k.a Molly's new boss. She knows about it when she comes to the aquarium one day and Max fires her on the spot. And that's what this book is about.

If this book was not a rom-com, I would have a lot of problems with it. This book doesn't make sense at all. I don't understand the characters' point of views, like, why they are doing that. They think those things can solve the problems, but actually they make things got worse. But you know what, those ridiculous things make this book really fun to read and a good rom-com novel. There is another thing that I love about this book, it is Ursula, the dog (remember Ursula, from the Little Mermaid?). Oh my God, she is so cute. I finish this book just because I want to read about her.

This book has enemies to lovers trope, and I think the romance is kind of bland. Even after they feel attracted to each other, Max is like "I think I like her", and Molly is like "He is actually not that bad". The romance needed more sparks.

At the end, I really enjoy it though. It is a fun and easy read. This book gives me the cozy-summer vibes. If you want to read something while you just relax, this book is a good choice.

A Line in the Sand will be released on August 2, 2022. You can get it on Amazon, at bookstores, or maybe at your library. HAPPY READING!
